Chandragiri Fort

Location

This fort was built in the 17th Century by Sivappa Naik near the Chandragiri River. The ancient Kizhur Temple at Chandragiri has an annual festival called “Pattu Utsavam”.

Chandragiri Fort which is popularly known for its attractiveness was built in the 17th century in the area of Kasargod Districts, Kerala. An important and eventful stories lies behind the Chandragiri fort. The fort stalls on a large hill which is one hundred and eighty three meters high. Also, the southern face of the hill is covered by hard and well-built walls, encircled by a ditch. The corpse of the lower fort bears the two Mahals. The grounding part is built out of stone and the upper part is built out of bricks. Chandragiri Fort grants an exciting visible horizon of the river and the Arabian Sea.
