Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary

Location

The Chakrasila Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 45.50 sq km and is home to the golden langur. The sanctuary also has about 273 species of birds, 14 species of reptiles, 11 species of amphibians and 60 species of fish.

The upper and middle reaches of the sanctuary are covered with mixed deciduous forests, whereas, the lower reaches are covered with sal coppice regeneration. The sanctuary is popular for trekking, birdwatching and wildlife photography.
