Five Gardens

Location

The place named Five gardens is in Central Mumbai and as the name suggests, it has five gardens in and around. All these are highly useful for the residents for early morning walk and spending weekends and evenings. Evenings witness heavy rush. This is a posh area with many modern residential houses and historical buildings.

Hanging Gardens

Location

The Hanging Gardens, also called as Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens built in 1881, is placed at the top of the Malabar Hills in Mumbai. It is located opposite to famous Kamala Nehru Park. Many kinds of sculptured carved in the shape of animals is the main feature of this park. One can get the eye-catching view of Sun setting in the Arabian Sea in the backdrop of nature’s multicolor illusion in the sky.

Kamala Nehru Park

Location

Kamala Nehru Park, named after the wife of first prime minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Park, is one of the attractive spots for tourists. It is a great place for outdoor activities, especially for kids. The park is placed in a vast expanse of Malabar hills. The park is placed such that one can see the panoramic view of the beautiful city areas like Marine drive and Chowpathy beach.

Mumbai Port Trust Garden

Location

This is a lovely garden set in the backdrop of Mumbai Port located in a side street of Colaba Cuaseway. This garden is maintained by Mumbai port trust. The area offers a merry making place for children and elders. Grandeur views of port and naval yards are the major attraction of this garden. The Garden breasts many potted flowering plants and a good expanse of green lawn. During weekend family people roam around the Garden to have fresh air and peace of ambience.

Ryewood Park

Location

Ryewood Park is a picturesque hang out in the hill station Lonavala and is located very close to Lonavala market. This Park has plenty of grounds with greenish lawns and playing grounds for children. The Park is blessed with many varieties of trees which are decades old. It was a botanical garden and later converted to a Park. The present day garden has many facilities for merry making and is thriving with many varieties of flowers.

Ryewood Park is a weekend hang out for many families. Children enjoy the playing facilities in the Park. One can get the pure air in this park.

Eco Cave Gardens

Location

Hathipaon and Park Estate

Location

One can approach Hathipaon by a lovely refreshing walk through the woods amidst silence. The Park Estate at Hathipaon used to be the one-time residence and observatory of Sir George Everest. The colonial bungalow is a must see with the fireplaces and the wooden beams still intact after these many years. Placed between the Himalayas and the Doon valley, the Park Estate promises breathtaking scenery from the top.

Municipal Garden

Location

The municipal garden, initially known as Company Bagh, belongs to the Happy Valley area. The gardens are a family retreat and entertain lots of families and tourists all round. An impression of old colonial gardens, the Company Bagh has a wide green carpet of neat and clean lawns and a fountain in the center.

A lake, a recently created waterfall, and a nursery housing pretty plants are other attractions of this garden. In addition to an entry fee of Rs 5, boating on the lake is charged at Rs 20 per head or Rs 40 per boat for a span of 15 minutes.

Ram Tal Horticultural Garden

Location

Ram Tal Horticultural Garden is a notable location in Chakrata, which encloses different varieties flora and fauna. The Garden is enriched with many varieties of climbers, conifers, lichen, ferns, flowering plants and woody trees. One can view many kinds of bird fauna in this scenic location on the top of the hillock. Black headed Jay, Grey Treepie and Oriental turtle dove are some of the birds which can be spotted here.
