Dal Lake

Location

Dal Lake, most attracted tourist spot in Dharamsala, is renowned for its scenic beauty and the cool ambience. The Dal Lake is surrounded by deep green Deodar forests. It is a best base camp for trekkers in Dharamsala and Mcleod Ganj.

The annual fair held every year in September on the banks of the Lake is a great attraction to the tourists. Taking a holy dip in this lake is considered to remove all miseries. It is a common belief that the dip in this holy lake will bring blesses of Lord Shiva. Even though the lake is small, the surroundings make it charming and dynamic.

Jandhri Ghat

Location

Around half a kilometre away from the Subhash Baoli, Jandhri Ghat enfolds an elegant palace in the midst of tall pine trees. Chamba's erstwhile rulers governed from here till the advent of Lord Dalhousie. The palace houses a number of shikhar trophies. Beside the palace, Jandhri Ghat offers heavenly spots for picnicking-gushing streamlets in the midst of fragrant pine-scented breezes.

Thandi Sadak

Location

Nature at its best is the right word to describe the magnificient hill station. The crisscross cross roads intertwined in the shape of eight provides a relaxing time. A leisurely walk through the Thandi Sadak would fetch the tourist a soothing sensation. This is the most alluring spot in this small hill station, which offers a cool ambience for a perfect walk.

Garam Sadak

Location

Fringed with lovely trees, Garam Sadak is the best promenade in Dalhousie. One among the two crisscross roads that joins the famous Gandhi and Subash chowks, this road is hot as its name suggests. Garam Sadak receives direct sunshine and that is the reason for its warm atmosphere. The signboards near the road, holds an interesting caption that ‘walking is the trend in the knolls’.

Dainkund Peak

Location

Situated at an altitude of 2755 meter, Dainkund is the highest mount in Dalhousie that provides the picture book scenery of the whole valley. The amazing experience of a pliable trudge in a beautiful ambience is quite spectacular, which provides an enthralling freshness to everyone. The sweet sound of the gentle breeze puffing through the trees makes a musical serenade and so Daikund is popularly known as the singing hill.

Satdhara Falls

Pangi Valley

Location

This range of the Himachal in the Mid-Himalaya called Pir Panjal by geologists and Pangi Range by common people. It is the direct continuation of the main Himalayan axis entering the Himachal on the East of Bushahr. After dividing Kullu from Lahaul-Spiti, it enters Chamba territory on the Western border of Bara Banghal and traverses the district for more than sixty miles. This range divides Chamba into two unequal sections and separate these from each other to such an extent that even in the summer there is comparatively little inter communications.

Lama Dal

Location

Held sacred to Lord Shiva, this lake lies amidst bare rock. 'Lama Dal' means a long lake. It is in the inner slopes of Dhauladhar range. This is a group of seven lakes, the largest of all is Lama Dal. It is 20 km from Dainkund (Dayankund). It is said to have unknown depth.
