Whenever you travel to Calicut in India, there are many beaches there that are perfect for a romantic setting. Kappad Beach is one of the most historical places of significance in the world. Thus, it is one of the many places in India where a tourist must go and see. Kappad Beach is very famous and significant because of the fact that the famous world explorer Vasco De Gama first set foot on the Kappad Beach on his world famous journey. Vasco De Gama set foot on the Kappad Beach in 1498 AD. In fact, to honor this significant historical event, there is a stone monument that is erected on the Kappad Beach so that the visitors can get a feel for those times.

At one time, the ton of Kallai that is situated next to the Kallai River, was the biggest timber trading center in the continent of Asia. Kallai River was sued to collect timber and ship them off by the sea to other merchants all over Asia. Thus Kallai River is a reminiscence of the times that India was a great power on her behalf. If you are looking to see the rich cultural heritage of the past then you should definitely visit Kallai River. Although, it doesn't have the glamour of the past, there is still some activity that you can see.

30 km away from Bekal Fort, this is one of the most beautiful backwaters of the region. Receiving waters from 4 different rivers, this backwater experience can be quite enchanting as it has many small islands that can be seen while cruising along its waters.

The Hosdurg Beach lies near the area of Kanjhangad. Hosdurg Beach is a wide strip flowing along the side of the town. This Hosdurg beach is the real find place, where you need to make a visit at the time of your trip. A huge mile covering dazing tawny sands, casuarina orchards and the picturesque cottages made out of thatched roofs, which appears resembling the transplant from the English shires are the striking spotlights of the Hosdurg Beach. The Bekal fort beach is just a kilometer away from Bekal fort. The Bekal fort beach is one among the long-familiar beaches in Kasargod. The beach is popularly known because it holds a huge surface area of white sands that enshroud an area of thirty-five acres land. The Bekal fort beach is strewed with palm trees and thereby gives a pleasing palpate to the visitors. Visitors make their trip with different type of vehicles as they feel comfortable with the parking facilities. The BRDC has contrived around 7000 sq. m land specially for parking the visitors' vehicles.

Pathiramanal Island is a small, 10 acre island located in Vembanad lake near Alleppey. Situated between Thaneermukkom and Kumarakom, the island gets to see a lot of rare migratory birds. The island is only accessible by boat.

Situated in the heart of the backwaters, Kuttunad is also known as “the rice bowl of Kerala” because of its paddy cultivation. The region has the lowest altitude in India and is one of the very few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. Apart from paddy, Kuttunad is also famous for cassava and yam farming. Inland waterways that flow above land level are an amazing feature of this region.
