Waterfalls

Location

Two waterfalls - Thomankuttu and Rainbow Waterfalls - are located at a distance of 20 and 25 km from Thodupuzha. The waterfalls are an ideal destinations for all those who love to picnic in a natural surroundings. The first mentioned waterfall is characterized by seven step and a number of surrounding caves. The second one is surrounded by lush green forests

Sita Devi Lake

Location

Devikulam boasts of a breathtakingly beautiful Sita Devi Lake veiled in the hills. As the name indicates the lake is associated with goddess Sita. Tourists flock to the Lake owing to the splendid surroundings, many believe in the curative powers of the mineral water of the lake. It is believed that goddess Sita had bathed in the waters of this lake making it sacred for the pilgrims that visit Devikulam.

Vellari Mala

One of the advantages of the Calicut region in India is definitely its many waterscapes, natural habitats, and trekking environments that are found there. Perhaps Vellari Mala is the best of them all as it offers a perfect natural environment that must be seen and experienced by expert trekkers. In addition, the presence of water falls in Vellari Mala definitely makes up for its shortcomings, but in general, there are many trekking and hiking routes one can take over there. Of course, when Vellari Mala is mentioned then the velvet landscapes must be mentioned as well.

Tusharagiri

If you are traveling between the months of October to the month of March, then definitely Tusharagiri is the place that you must go to in your visit to India. Tusharagiri is located in the Calicut Region and it is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes or habitats in the world. There are many spices and fruits like coconut, ginger, and pepper that can be found in this wonderful natural habitat. Of course, the water falls are unparallel as they are more than magnificent. You can also find couple of kilometers of trekking area there.

Canolly Canal

If you go to the district of Kozhikode (Calicut) then there are many beautiful places to see. However, Calicut in general is a coastal district and thus when you go to the small villages there you can expect to be side by side with boats, rivers and the sea. The Canolly Canal is such a place as there are many opportunities in the Canolly Canal to take boat and just stroll down the canal for enjoyment. Canolly Canal is especially very enjoyable during the sun set times when tourists stroll down the canal in the small local boats that give you a historical déjà vu.

Peruvannamuzhi Dam

When you are looking to travel somewhere; sometimes just seeing lots of monuments and artifacts will not be enough. So when you visit India and you are looking for a change of pace in your vacation, then Peruvannamuzhi Dam is the right place to go. There is just so much to see there.
