Echo Point

Location

Echo point is situated at 15km from Munnar and is an admirable adventure destination for the tourists. Some of the popular activities in this picturesque destination among the explicit views of the lush green hills are trekking and nature walks.

An appropriate place to disembark for some time, shriek and scream and enjoy the pleasure of your voice coming back. This is best enjoyed by the youngsters.

Anamudi Peak

Location

Anamudi Peak lies to the interior of the Eravikulam National Park. This national park is at a peak of 2695 m, and it towers the sanctuary in grandiose pride.

This hill is opulent in various kinds of flora and fauna and is very well known for possessing endangered animals. Anamudi peak shelters many animals as it resembles the original abode for the animals with its dense forests. Nilgiri languors, leopards, tigers, and macaques are found here.

Reservoir

Location

The Malampuzha Dam forms a beautiful water reservoir. This reservoir is located right in the middle the Malampuzha Gardens. The famous garden is made lush and green from the existence of this reservoir, and the reservoir in turn is given a picturesque surrounding from the garden. This water basin is used for both fishing and boating. Locals as well as tourists like to take advantage of this magnificent water experience. The beautiful gardens are viewed well from a boat on the reservoir. It the boating and fishing provide relaxation while enjoying the breathtaking garden surroundings.

Malampuzha Dam

Location

Malampuzha Dam: Work on the Malampuzha Dam was begun in 1949. Six years later it was completed and dedicated in 1955. The dam's capacity is 115.06 meters. The dam created the largest irrigation system in Kerala with a network of canals. This reservoir is in a majestic setting. It is located in the Western Ghats with the Ghats towering over the reservoir. The landscape by the dam is green and incredibly beautiful. The Malampuzha Garden is located right by the dam. The reservoir created by the dam is used as a boating destination by many people including tourists.

Dharmadam Island

A small island full of coconut palms and green bush extending to 5 acres. 100 meters away from the main land at Dharmadam. The island (private land) is a beautiful sight from the beach. Permission is required to enter into the island from its owners. It is located 15 kms away from Mahe. Beside the Muzhappilangad beach 100 metres offshore lies the Dharmadam island surrounded by rivers and sea. A conjunction of beach & island it is a matter of walk during lowtide. Being a Buddhist stronghold it was earlier known as Dharmapattanam.

Meenmutty Falls

Location

The most impressive water fall that can be found in Wayanad is Meenmutty Falls. It has an impressive height of 300 meters. Even more impressive is that this waterfall has three separate tiers. It takes a rather strenuous two kilometer hike to even get into the falls so it remains one of the most unspoiled waterfalls in all of India. The hike is not only long, it is also dangerous and very tiresome, but if you choose to take on the challenge, you will be rewarded with a most impressive sight.

Eddakal Caves

Location

Eddakal meaning ‘a stone in between’, is located 10 km from Sulthan Bathery. The caves are situated at a height of 1000m in the Ambukutty Hills. There many rock engravings here which are regarded as prehistoric visual archives of paintings and graphic signs. The caves which are a natural formation of two caves due to a large split in a huge rock, can only be accessed by trekking from Eddakal.

Vembanad Lake

Location

Vembanad Lake is one of the largest fresh water lakes in Asia. This vast expanse of water extends right up to the backwaters of Cochin (now Kochi). House boats seen on the lake have been built on huge cargo boats (called Kettu Vallom) and can still be seen ferrying goods across the lake. Some of the house boats are luxurious, air-conditioned mobile hotels that tourists can rent during their stay.
