The most impressive water fall that can be found in Wayanad is Meenmutty Falls. It has an impressive height of 300 meters. Even more impressive is that this waterfall has three separate tiers. It takes a rather strenuous two kilometer hike to even get into the falls so it remains one of the most unspoiled waterfalls in all of India. The hike is not only long, it is also dangerous and very tiresome, but if you choose to take on the challenge, you will be rewarded with a most impressive sight. There are three separate trails that will take you to the falls as each tier has its own treacherous trail. This fall is quiet a hot favourite with the localites and they keep on singing paeans of its beauty. A two km trek is required to be undertaken to reach this fall though it is less demanding and exhausting. The water here falls from a great height of 1000 m and exhibits a triple decker effect. The fall lies 29 km from Kalpetta and 12 km from Meppady.
