Bear's Cave

Location

This is a must see for any tourist visiting Yercaud. The Bear’s cave is situated in a private coffee estate near the Norton Bungalow, which is on the way to the Servaroyan temple. There is a huge cave formation beside this coffee estate bungalow, which was considered to be home for the bears. Even though it is a private estate, the owner has been kind enough to open it for the visitors.

Marina Beach

Location

The famous Marina Beach, the pride of Chennai, is second longest beach in the world and has a wide sandy foreshore. One can see statues of heroes from Tamil culture to Samadhi of great leaders like Anna and MGR here. Walk along the Marina in the evening to cool off and eat crispy sundal and murukku. An aquarium is also located on the Marina Beach. Watching sunset and sunrise from the beach is a fascinating experience. The tsunami on December 26, 2004, caused massive death and destruction along the beach.

Elliot's Beach

Location

Elliot's beach is a beach of calmness and beauty, which cannot be forgotten by any visitor. This is a paradise of beach lovers. Elliot's Beach is spread along the coast down south from Marina. It is also the night beach for Chennai youth. This beach is comparatively quieter and an ideal place to go sea bathing. It is located near Besant Nagar. The sacred Ashtalakshmi temple and the most revered Velankanni church are located at the end of this beach. A real pleasure, seldom noisy, illuminated soft sands, comfortable roads; one can never forget the offers of Elliot's beach.

Breezy Beach

Location

Breezy Beach is located in the quiet neighbourhood of Valmiki Nagar in Chennai. It is smaller and less popular than the Elliots beach. This beach is not as commercialized as the Elliots beach, and is hence more quiet and peaceful. Evenings are very pleasant and breezy here, Lots of tourists are attracted towrds this beach. This beach is less polluted and environment friendly. Those who look for a calm, cool and breezy place to relax, this beach is the best place in Chennai.

Anand Sagar Lake

Location

On the eastern side of the town is an artificial lake also known as Bai Talab, which is said to have been constructed by Lachhi Bai of Idar, the Rani of maharawal Jagmal. Nearby lies the chattris or cenotaphs of the rulers of the state. Couple of holy tree known as "Kalp Vriksha" which is said to fulfill the desires of the visitors is also present nearby. The charming surroundings also attract many visitors overhere.

Sagar

Location

Located just behind the City Palace, Sagar lake was constructed in 1815 AD. Formerly used as a holy bathing ghat, Sagar lake has been able to withstand the beatings of time. Over centuries, people has been following the sacred tradition of feeding the pigeons. It is this lovely pond that separates the City Palace from the surrounding pebbly hills. The local belief is that water in the pond is bestowed with some therapeutic tendencies.

Jai Samand Lake

Location

One of the popular picnic spot in Alwar, this lake presents an embankment of 1.5 kilometers, which is an ideal place for nice promenades. These banks also houses shaded pavilions and lovely towers. These monuments are erected on lotus shaped bases and have seven feet height. Jaisamand Lake makes a beautiful artificial lake constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1910 AD; a popular spot for outings and picnics. During monsoons, sprawling greenery all around makes it a visual treat. This place is easily accessible by road from Sariska.

Jai Samand Lake is ideal for water sports. It makes a great angling site.
