Foy Sagar

Location

Situated in the suburb of the city, the Foy Sagar, lake is an artificial lake envisioned by a great Englishman, Mr Foy. This synthetic lake was constructed in the year 1891, as a part of a dearth relief project and it is named after the architect who had supervised this great work.

Ana Sagar

Location

A dazzling milestone in the history of Ajmeer, Ana Sagar Lake has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous dynasties. Flanked by some of the most fabulous attractions, this beautiful lake is the innovative outlook of King Anaji. The lake is surrounded by some of the marvelous piece of attractions of the city like the marble pavilions built by king Shajahan. Besides this, a pretty shrine of Khobra Behroon on the banks of this artificial lake offers a picturesque appearance to the surroundings.

Soochipara Falls

Location

The Soochippara waterfalls are situated near Meppadi and are real treasures of nature. The waterfall ranged from 100 to 300 feet in height and is a luxury to the eyes. This is a prominent place for leisurely destination. This place is a blessed place as its divinity is obvious in the beauty of the nature.

The pool sited below the falls offer a great opportunity for swimming, bathing, water rafting, etc. another attraction is the tree top huts presenting a distinct vies of the western ghat valleys and the shining shallow waters of the spring. Such a scenic beauty cannot be ignored. Swimming is advisable.

Pookote Lake

Location

Either on your way to Lakidi from Vythiri or back, Pookote Lake can be visited anytime. It is a freshwater lake surrounded by evergreen forests and hills. The lake is crowded during holidays and it is difficult to find isolation. Still if that is what you want then tread the walkaway around the lake and you will experience much tranquility. Boating on Pookote Lake is also an interesting option. A nearby eco shop can be visited in you are keen to see products made of around 2 dozen variety of bamboo.

Pakshipathalam

Location

Pakshipathalam is located in deep forest and atop the Brahmagiri hills at a height of 1700 m. The place is a delight for the lovers of birds since the deep caves found here are abode of a large range of birds. It is believed that Garuda, king of birds kept a watch over his subjects from a what is today known as the Garudapara. It is a small projection in form of an eagle. To reach Pakshipathalam, which requires a trek of 7 km, you need to obtain a permission from the Forest Department. There is no accommodation facilities available, so it is better that you plan your trip accordingly.

Karlad Lake

Location

Karlad Lake spreads in an area of 7 acres and is a place where you can be with yourself, more so because it is not a huge tourist hotspot. The lake with all its beauty and facilities of boating and angling is still to gain its share of popularity. It is around 8 km from Vythiri.

Kanthapara Falls

Location

Kanthapara falls is located towards the south east of Kalpetta. Kanthapara falls is at a distance of 22 kms from Kalpetta and 8 kms from Meppadi east. This is another significant and charming waterfall at about 30 mts height. Comparatively it is smaller that the sentinel rock falls.
