Benachity is the oldest commercial area of Durgapur. It is around 3 km in length and has shops on both sides of the road. This place has the branches of all the banks. Besides, tourists will find shops of all national and multinational brands in Benachity. The place is well connected by buses, as most of the buses plying in Durgapur pass this place. The only problem with this place is the difficulty of vehicle parking as most part of the area remains congested.

The Marine Aquarium and Research Centre was founded in 1989 as a part of the Seventh Five Year Plan. The main attraction of the centre is the diverse marine life which helps people to carry out various researches on the marine biodiversity of the place.

The aquarium of the centre is considered the largest in the whole country and is well equipped with modified filtration unit and sea water circulation system. The aquarium has eight fresh water tanks and twenty-four big marine tanks which come with regulated supply of inflow and outflow of water, compressed air supply and light.

Kurseong is known for its tea production and there are many beautiful and expansive tea estates all around the town. Some of the well known tea estates in Kurseong are the Ambotia, Castleton, Springside, Makaibari, Jogmaya, Ghoomtee and more.

The Castleton Tea Estate is known to produce the world's most expensive tea. These estates not only add to the beauty of Kurseong, but also provide a firsthand experience on tea manufacturing process. Many of these estates offer “bed and breakfast” accommodation and these are quite popular among tourists.

During spring time, this place is covered with many varieties of flowers, mostly orchids that are a famous attraction.

Kukrahati stands on the bank of the Hooghly River, opposite Raichak in South 24 Parganas. Reputed as the gateway to the port and industrial city of Haldia, it is linked with the destination by ferry services that are operated by Haldia municipality at intervals of 30 minutes. These ferries take only 15 minutes to cross the river.

The Sewa Hydel Project was constructed on the Sewa River, a tributary of River Ravi. This project is located between Ghatti and Maska villages in Basohli tehsil. The second phase of this project was launched by Surjit Singh Slathia, the Minister for Power, in Basohli tehsil of Kathua District.

Chapel of John Bishop's Memorial Hospital is the sole praying ground for the Christians of the city. This small chapel is situated inside the grounds of John Bishop Memorial Hospital of Anantnag, in Mohalla Sarnal, the eastern corner of the town. This chapel was constructed in 1982 to cater to the need for a praying ground of all the Protestant Christians and Christian officials residing in and around the township. This chapel mostly benefits the Christian employees who work in the hospital.

Golf Course in Gulmarg, situated at a height of 2,650 mabove sea level, is the highest green golf course in the world. This 18-hole golf course is completely managed by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation. Temporary membership, even for one day, is available at the club for the golfers.
