Location
This church has an interesting story of faith and devotion related to its construction. A brahmin family of Ettanesseri, yearning for a male heir, prayed to Virgin Mary. On his wish being fulfilled, the brahmin donated a piece of land for the construction of this church as a token of thanks to the respected Virgin Mary. The church is located at a distance of 10 km from Kottayam town in Athirumpuzha and has a rather unusual image of Jesus Christ on crucifix - one without any wound. The church is open from 9.30 am to 1 pm and then from 3.30 to 6 pm.
