Sammed Shikharji, close to Giridih, is a popular Digambar Jain Teerth Kshetra. It is a place where twenty teerthankars attained salvation. Sammed Shikharji is also known as Teerthraj, the King of Teerths. Temples dedicated to each of the twenty teerthankars are located on the Parasnath Hills. Some of these shrines are believed to be around 2000 years old.
