Raja Veda Pathashala in Kumbakonam, also acclaimed as Raja Veda Kavya Patasala, is 400 years old in which thousands of scholars got their knowledge base on Sanskrit, Epics, Hindu religion, Vedas and rituals. The Pathashala has 240 students undergoing various classes.
Vedic priests rigorously teach the lessons and conduct examinations for the students to test the knowledge in this age old educational institution. The students are taught Vedic chanting required for all types of Hindu rituals.
