Catholic Church

Location

The attempt to spread Christianity by the Catholic Church began in 1948, when the Sisters of the Missionaries of Christ Jesus, arrived in Kohima to offer services at newly established hospital of Kohima. The Catholic Church produced tangible results and has witnessed the creation of separate Diocese for the States of Nagaland and Manipur.

The Catholic Church located on the Aradhurah Hill, near the Little Flower School is probably the biggest church of its kind in the pre-dominantly Christian north-eastern region of India. The church presents a refreshingly modern blend of indigenous and creative architecture. The church itself is located on the hill and provides a magnificent view of the town.

It is one of the famous places of Kohima. Located at Aradura Hill, the Catholic Cathedral is one of the biggest Cathedral in the entire North East.
