Baiju Temple

Baiju Temple is a collective name for three temples, which are located to the west of Baba Baidyanath Temple complex. Situated in the main market of Deoghar, these temples were built by the heir of main priests of Baba Baidyanath Temple. The common feature of these temples is that each temple has a huge Shivalingam inside its premises.

Ram Mandir

Location

Ram Mandir at Bokaro is managed by the Shree Ram Mandir Trust, which organises around 250 marriages of the poor people, every year at low cost. The temple was constructed in the year 1967 by labour leader Pt. Parma Nand Tripathi.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, but also has various small temples of Radha Krishna Mandir, Hanuman Mandir and many more. There are also Lord Venkateshwar Mandir, Kali Mandir, Sheetala Mandir and Shiva Mandir located within the premises. The temple also houses a rishi niwas and a holy library.

Aaiyappa Mandir

Location

Aaiyappa Mandir is situated in Sector-5 of Bokaro. This is a prominent place for religious, cultural and social events organised by the people belonging to Southern India. The temple features idols of Lord Aaiyyappa, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and many other Gods and Goddesses.

Adi Baba Mandir

Location

Adi Baba Mandir was constructed in honour of Sepoy Bhajan Singh. It is believed that Sepoy Bhajan Singh met with an accident and died at this site. This attraction is famous for the Wreath Laying Ceremony organised every October in the memory of soldiers who sacrificed their lives defending the country.

Bonn Monastery

Location

The Bonn Monastery is another religious attraction of Ravangla, situated in the Kewzing Village, 5 km from the town. This monastery was established in the late 1980s as a symbol of the determination of the community of Kewzing, in preserving their traditions.

The Bonn faith of this monastery primarily flourished in Tibet in the 8th century AD, even before the advent of Buddhism. It is said that many of the rituals of this sect have been assimilated into Buddhism.

Doling Gompa

Location

The Doling Gompa or Monastery is situated in the Barfung Village, 4 km away from Ravangla Town. This monastery follows the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism, which is one of the oldest sects, also referred to as the Red Hat sect. Its location amongst the cardamom plantations also provides an opportunity to see the rich flora and fauna of the region. It is the monastery belonging to the oldest sect of Buddhism. Follows the Nyimgpa sect of Buddhism which is also the oldest Sect and commonly refferd to as The Red Hat Sect.
