Birla Mandir

Location

The various Birla mandirs constructed across the country were built by the industrialists Birlas. Sri Venkateswara, or Lord Lakshminarayana, is the deity of these temples. Strangely, however, these temples are known by the family that undertook the noble cause. The Birla Mandir in Hyderabad is built on the 280-foot-high hillock of Kalapahad. Birla Mandirs are constructed entirely using marbles. It is believed that it took 2000 tonnes of white marbles brought from the Indian state of Rajasthan to complete this holy place.

Viswamandiram

Location

Viswamandiram is a spiritual place located on the outskirts of Guntur. Known for being the domicile of Sri Viswayogi Viswamji, the place appears to be immersed in the divine nectar. It has the Universal Integration Pillar, which is an envisaged symbol of the oneness of humanity. Here is sited the renowned Viswayogi Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), a renowned institution of India.

Kalavagunta

Location

Located at the convergence of Aragonda and Ponnai Rivers, Kalavagunta is a hamlet about 8 km to the north-east of Chittoor. This place is known for temples of Mukkantisvara and Lakshminarayana, which date back to the 9th century. Both of these temples represent the Chola style of architecture.

Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple

Location

A 17th century shrine, dedicated to lord Ram, Sree Seetharamachandra Swamy Temple in Khammam is built by Gopanna. A unique pilgrimage centre with a great tradition, this sacred shrine is one among the busiest temples in the locality. The fabulously carved temple walls depicts all incarnations and images of Lord Vishnu. The chief deity, Ram is found with a bow and conch thereby creates the impression of both Vishnu and Ram at the same time. Another characteristic attribute of this holy place is that Sita is placed on Ram's lap. Ushnagundam, which is believed to be the spot from where, Lakshman had fetched hot water for Sita, situates adjacent to this temple.

Jattayu Paaka (Yetapaka)

Location

This Place is situated from 2km away from Bhadrachalam. According to Itihasas, the bird Jatayuvu, a devotee of Rama had obstructed Ravana while he was proceeding on the chariot after kidnapping Sita. After the fearful battle between Ravana and Jataayuvu, the heavily injured bird had waited at this place in search of Rama. A wing of this bird fell at Rekkapalli, about 55 km from here, in V.R. Puram Mandal.

Gundala

Location

It is a place 5 km away from the sacred town Bhadrachalam, where springs of hot water could be traced on the river bank when we dig a pit at any place in this area. It is believed that the divine trios (Brahma Vishnu Maheswara) had their dips in winter season according to Brahma Purana.

Abhaya Anjaneya Temple

Location

Abhaya Anjaneya Temple: A temple of comparatively recent origin, Sri Abhaya Anjaneya temple at Seethammadhara is constructed in the year 1998. Dedicated to Lord Hanuman, this temple is under the control of the trust presided by its founder. The glittering marble floor, tidy walls with delicately carved images of various 'deities make a visitor to the temple spellbound.

One among the awesome sight is the beautiful sculptures of gods and goddesses, carved along the border of the temple complex. Though constructed in cement, it appears like wooden sculptures.
