Jagannath Temple Deogaon

Location

With the spread of Baisnavism in Dhenkanal Jagannath Temple were built in different parts of the District. This Jagannath Temple is located at Deogaon at the foot of Kapilas mountain. Gajapati Prataprudra Deva had built the temple. The gateway of this temple is higher than the temple itself. Every year the Rathayatra (Car festival) is being organised by the temple management in collaberation with Debottor Dept., Dhenkanal.

Astasambhu Temple

Location

Kualo or Karmula was the ancient capital of dhenkanal. Kualo is situated in north of dhenkanal town at a distance of 32 Km on the right side of river Brahmani. The kingdom was ruted by the shulki kings who hold 'stamba'epithets. They were the fedotaries of the Bahmukar kings. Their futiler deity was Lord Shiva. Hence we see eight siva temples at Kualo known as 'Ashta Sambhu'. These eight shiva lingas are known as - Kanakeswar, swapneswar, Aisneswar, Kapileswar, Baidyanatheswar, baneswar and Lokanatheswar.

Naganatheswar Temple

Location

This temple belongs to sri sri Naganatheswar shiva, situated at village'Nagena' about 20 Km from Dhenkanal. It is the most ancient saiva temple and was constructed during the region of the Keshari dynasty. According to scholors Pandit Nagendranath Mohapatras'Naganath satakam it is one of the 12 yotir lingas. In the stotras of the 'Awashyotirlinga' one of the yotirlinga is in the Daruka-Vana or Neem forest.The neem forest is still there in the premises. Even Harisingh Vidyadhar who occupied the Dhenkanal fragmental temple for the darshan of Lord Naganath.

Singanatha Temple

Location

One among the imposing structures in the city, Singanatha Temple is the oldest temple in Cuttack. This holy shrine is located in a tranquil ambiance of Mahanadi river more particularly on a rocky island in the river. An epitome of sacredness and tranquility, this devout centre is a popular pilgrim centre in the entire city.

Quadam-i-Rasool

Location

Kadam Rasool is a famous mosque located in the vicinity of the old quarters in the Cuttack city. The domed mosque is spread over an area of 57 acres. The origin of Kadam-I-Rasool, in the Cuttack city of Orissa, can be traced back to the eighteenth century. The mosque holds a lot of religious significance in the eyes of Muslim devotees, as it contains the footprints of Prophet Mohammad, which have been preserved in the central hall.

Cuttack Chandi Temple

Location

A holy shrine believed to be the abode of the guardian deity of the city of Cuttack, Temple of Cuttack Chandi boast of a fabulous tale. The place where the temple now situates was a fallow land earlier and the goddess appeared there to a man called Hansa Panda and asked him to bring the goddess from their. While digging, around forty bullock cart full red Sindoor and the Devi emerged from the soil. The people in Cuttack believe that the deity in this temple guards the city from all evil.

Chandi Temple

Location

Chandi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Chandi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. The temple is highly revered by devotees and people visiting the city make sure to offer their prayers here. It’s magnificently carved interiors and gateways stand as a testimony to the architectural ability of the previous times.
