Moreh

Location

Town Moreh is the international trade center of Manipur. The town is approximately 70 kilometers off Chandel. Moreh is a commercial town visited by several people from the nearby neighboring areas. Border trade possible from this border town increase the importance of this town.

Loukoipat

It is a hot-favourite tourist spot in Bishnupur district lying just in the outskirts of the district headquarters. A small but aesthetically satiating lake surrounded on all sides by green foliage-rich hillocks, is the main attraction of the spot. Boating facility is also provided to the tourists.

Benrue Village

Location

Benrue is a tourist village located at an altitude of 1950 m above sea level in the Peren district. A stay at this village will add more excitement to your holidays. There is a wildlife sanctuary around this village where a wide variety of wildlife can be spotted. The people here make a special bread called Kennie Nku which can be tried out when you you visit the village.

Shanghyu village

Location

Shanghyu village, ruled by the Chief Angh is a prominent village in Mon district. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in breadth-believed to be constructed by heavenly angels. Human beings and other creatures are carved on this monument. Memorial stones are also found in front of the Angh's palace. History records that good and friendly relationship existed between the Shangnyu and the Ahom Kings of Assam.

Naganimora

Location

Naganimora, formerly known as Lakhan, is a subdivision in Mon district and is situated in Kongan village land. The only coalfield in Nagaland, founded by East India Company in 1907 is at Borjan near Naganimora.

The second rail link to Nagaland from Simuluguri (Assam) also connects Naganimora.
Every Saturday, there is an interesting weekly market here with a medley crowd of Assamese and Konyak Nagas.

Longwa Village

Location

Longwa Village is among the biggest village in the district. As the village straddles the international boundary line, one half of the Angh's house falls within the Indian territory and the other half lies in Myanmar. However the whole village is controlled by the Angh and the Village Council Chairman. An interesting feature of this village is that the Angh of the village has 60 wives and his jurisdiction extends up to Myanman and Arunachal Pradesh.

Chumukedima

Location

It is situated at a distance of about 14 Km from Dimapur on NH 39. Chumukedima served as the first headquarters of the then Naga Hills District of Assam State during the time of British rule in early period of the 19th centure. The Department of Tourism is constructing a Tourist Village on top of a hill. From this spot one can capture a view of the whole of Dimapur and other parts of Karbi-Anlong of Assam. The Tourist Village is at a distance of 8 Km from the National Highway. One can also come across few waterfalls located in this area which are under exploration and assessment for easy access.

Thasiama Seno Neihna

Location

This is a plateau on a steep rugged hillock that protrudes out precariously and is not easily negotiable by man. Located at Vaphai, a village about 86 kms. Away from Champhai, and a visit to this site is a thrilling experience. According to legend the plateau is the site where Thasiama's Mithun used to calf, considered impossible for a Mithun to climb even today. However, legend tells us that Thasiama had an affairs with a beautiful Fairy named Chawngtinleri and that the Fairy had bestowed him a gift that his Mithun will multiply and make him prosperous.
