Siliserh Lake

Location

Siliserh Lake is a wonderful picnic spot located 13 kilometers south west of Alwar. The lake covers an area of 10.5 square kilometers and is a fine spot for an excursion from Neemrana. The Lake palace was built in 1845 by Maharaja Vinay Singh for his wife. It is now a heritage hotel.

Constructed by Maharaja Vinay Singh in 1845 AD, Siliserh Lake spans over a wide expansion of seven sq kms. This lake poses as an imposing backdrop to the Siliserh palace, which has been converted in to a heritage hotel. With a splendid regal palace, the lake has an inspiring mix of breathtaking beauty and architectural charisma. This pretty lake is festooned with domed cenotaphs, which themselves boast of a grandeur in architecture.

Prettily placed in the midst of the wooded inclines of Aravalli Ranges, the lake serves as an asylum to exotic varieties of migratory birds. Besides its impressive looks, the lake is a hot spot of challenge loving people since it presents a perfect track for angling. The magnificence of this stunning water body can be awe-inspiring from the balcony of the palace hotel. The beauty of the pond is so graceful that one would not mind spending hours on its lovely banks.

There are many other tourist spots in Alwar that can be visited during sightseeing and excursions from Neemrana. These include the Vijay Mandir Palace, Bhartrihari Temple, and Purjan Vihar, also called Company Garden.
