17 Kms from Sirsi. There are hundreds of the stones with Shiva Linga carved on them by the side or river 'Shalmala'. Because these uncountable carvings, the place gets the name "Sahasra Linga" (thousand lingas). Every year on the day of 'Shivaratri' thousands of people visit this place to worship Lord Shiva. When the water level is not high enough you can actually see all those carvings.
