Situated just six miles north to the Venkateswara temple is Ramakrishna Teertham. It holds another fantastic myth about lord Srinivasa. It says that a person by name Krishna dug this pool and after some days of its excavation a rishi came there and started to meditate in the pool. His meditation went for quite a long time so that an anthill had grown around him. In order to test his concentration, Indra sent down hammering rainstorm with bright lightning and heavy thunders. But it failed to dislodge the man in the pool. Ramakrishna never dislodge. Meanwhile the anthill broke out and there appeared Lord Srinivasa. The lord blessed that a bathe in holy teertham on the full moon day will cleanse away the sins and evils.
