Generally temples are seen as the places of worship and peace however; some temples like the Maa Kaali Mandir have a bloody past to it that makes it more interesting to visit. The Maa Kaali Mandir which is almost 1200 years old was carried to Kuchaman as a war trophy (a common practice of those days) from the southern state of Karnataka. The Rathore rulers are credited with installing the Maa Kaali Protima (as it is called) in the temple. The idol was sculpted in black stone almost 1200 years ago and still exudes the same glory as would a new idol.
