Bhramaramba Devi Temple

Location

Bhramaramba Temple is a renowned temple in the hill town of Srisailam. It is perched on the Nallamala hills on the southern bank of Krishna River at a height of 457 m above sea level. The temple is dedicated to Devi Bhramaramba (Goddess Parvati), the consort of Lord Mallikarjuna, one of the 12 Jyothirlinga forms of Lord Shiva.

Bhramara literally means bee and legends and folk songs tell Goddess Parvati took the form of a bee and worshipped Lord Shiva in his form Mallikarjuna. The Goddess here is worshipped as Brahmani Shakti. It is believed that one will get by taking birth in Srisailam and offering prayers at Bhramaramba temple.
