Red Hill

Location

Manipur is a mesmerising destination with a lot of tourist attractions, Red Hill being one of them. It is a hillock holding sheer historic importance. This place witnessed and braved a fierce battle which was fought between the British and the Japanese army during World War II. The local people consider it as a sacred spot. It is located on Tiddim Road, which is around 16 km from Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. This hillock has a monument, which was erected in the memory of the Japanese Martyrs. They sacrificed their lives in this disastrous war.

Red Hill is known for the battle which took place between the Allied Forces and the Japanese Forces in World War II,after which the Japanese war veterans constructed a monument at the foot of this hill and it was significantly named” India Peace Memorial”. This hillock is located at a distance about 17kms away from Imphal.
