Location
Nampong is considered as the threshold of the Indo-Myanmar border and it is the same region through which the historic Stilwell Road also known by the name of Ledo road passes. Just 12 km away from the region of Nampong is the Indo-Burma border from where the lake of No Return is also visible to the travellers.
It is because of the difficult terrains present in the Indo-Burma Patkai mountain ranges, Nampong is also referred to as Hell-Pass. During the World War second’s crossing these routes were very risky because of which the name Hell-Pass prevailed.
