Rani Ka Talab

Location

Rani Ka Talab is one of the historic testimonies, of the town built by Raja Ranjit Singh of Chhachhrauli. The 400 year old pond is positioned within Ambala Cantonment. and is currently under the authority of Indian Army. Along with the pond, there is an ancient Shiv Mandir and Devi Mandir, managed by the Indian Army.

Dhauj Lake

Location

Dhauj Lake, situated in the Aravali mountain range, is considered to be the best rock climbing site near Faridabad. This lake is located at about 20 km from Faridabad on the main Faridabad-Sohna Road. Dhauj village is 7 km away from Delhi-Chattarpur border, which lies near Mangar village in Faridabad District.

It is a natural lake which dries up during the hot summer season and again gets filled with water during the monsoon season. This lake also has a small artificial dam.

Damdama Lake

Location

Damdama Lake, located around 20 km south from Gurgaon, is a popular picnic spot among tourists visiting Gurgaon. Located near the Aravalli Hills, this lake is one of the biggest natural lakes in Haryana. Tourists visiting this place can indulge in boating, hot air ballooning, parasailing, kayaking and fishing.

On the old Delhi- Alwar Highway, 64 km from Delhi is located the Damdama Lake, in the form of an amoeba. Damdama is one of Haryana's largest natural lakes and a favored weekend spot for locals as well as tourists. Flanked by the Aravalli mountains, this water wonderland is famous for its various boating opportunities.

Shankarpur Beach

Location

Shankarpur Beach, a twin beach in Digha, is considered as a virgin beach. This beach is dotted with Casuarinas plantation and is popular for its beautiful shell collection that is displayed by the fishermen. Often referred to as the wide tree-lined beach, the site is renowned for its red-crab population.

This regular fishing harbour is situated on the Digha-Contai Road. A rest-house, operated by the West Bengal Fisheries Corporation, is located close to the beach. Tourists can reach this beach with the help of state operated buses, from the towns of Kolkata and Shankarpur.

Deolo Hill

Location

Deolo Hill, located to the north-east of the town, is one of the two hills in between which the town of Kalimpong stands. The hill is also the highest point of Kalimpong town, with a height reaching up to 1,704 metre above mean sea level. Out of the three water reservoirs located within the destination, two of which are primary source of drinking water, are located atop this hill.

Jaldhaka

Location

Jaldhaka valley is a prominent tourist destination, in the Kalimpong sub-division of West Bengal. This valley is situated at a height of over 1,500 feet above sea level. There is a mountain ridge descending south-west, from the Reche La Pass, which segregates the destination from the district. This pass is in turn separated from Bhutan by the Jaldhaka River, which is also called as river De-chu.

Farakka Barrage

Location

A visit to the Farakka Barrage, located 35 km. to the south of English Bazar is an enduring experience. The construction of this barrage across the River Ganges was completed on 1974-75 by Hindustan Construction. It is situated between two districts of West Bengal - Murshidabad and English Bazar. The Farakka Barrage Project was particularly designed for the maintenance and preservation of the Kolkata Port. It is the longest barrage across the globe featuring a length of around 2,240 metres and has lately been included into the Guinness book of World Records.

Digha Beach

Location

The hard sandy beach of Digha with all its food stalls, park benches and activity areas are the main attraction of Digha. The waves of the sea are quite calm and fishermen roaming all around the beach with their day’s catch are a very common sight of this beach.

St. Mary’s Hill

Location

The St Mary’s Hill is located around 4 km from the Kurseong Railway Station. It is a scenic natural area covered with lush green forests all around and the way leading to it is equally enthralling. Amidst the greenery is the Eastern Forest Rangers' College (EFRC) which was the erstwhile site of St. Mary's seminary.
