Manas River

Location

Manas River, one of the rivers flowing in the destination, is a trans-boundary river located on the foothills of the great Himalayan ranges. Serving as a link between southern Bhutan and India, the name of the river is derived from the name of Lord Manasa, the serpent god in Hindu mythology.

The part of river covering 272 km flows through Bhutan and the remaining part is in Assam. The river joins the Brahmaputra River at Jogighopa which is located at a distance of around 90 km from the destination.
