Ladliji Temple

Location

It was built by Raja Bir Singh ji Deo of Orchha in 1675. It is also known as Radha Rani Temple. It is one of the many temples dedicated to the divine couple that ornaments the four elevations of the hill at Barsana.

Shankari-Khor

Location

The area between the hill housing the Radha-Rani temple and the adjoining temple is known as the Sankari-Khor. This is the venue of the annual fair held in the month of Bhadon (July-August). The other three shrines are the Man Mandir, Dargah and Mor-Kutir temples.

Majares

Location

This city has a pride history of Muslim sages. Therefore some holy majares are here and these are Majare Aala Hazrat, Khanqahai Aaliya Niyazia, Bara Burji Masjid ( Tehsil, Aanwala ). Animals of various kinds are around the place. Cows and goats are tethered, and behind one of the buildings is a camel.There's a sadhu sitting at a shrine, ready to receive offerings from devotees. There's another sadhu sitting on a mat on a verandah of one of the buildings. He looks like someone important.

Freewell Baptist Church

Location

The only church of the Bareilly city is Freewell Baptist Church. The remains of Ahichhatra, the capital town of ancient Northern Panchala was discovered near Ramnagar Village of Anola Tehsil in Bareilly. 5000 coins belonging to the periods earlier than that of Guptas have been yielded from Ahichhatra. The terracotta human figurines from Ahichhatra became a model for determining the subsequent excavations at other sites in the Ganga Valley. During the 6th Century BC, Panchala was among one of the sixteen mehajanapadas of India.

Alakhnath Temple

Location

Bareilly is a spiritual city and the Alakhnath Temple is the headquarters of the Anand Akhara order of Naga sannyasins. A separate class/section of this order belongs to the Shiva devotees, known as 'Naga Babas' as they do not wear any clothes. The temple is always full of devotees who sing Bhajans and make offerings. The temple has several shrines dedicated to different Gods and Goddesses. Even animals of various kinds including cows, goats and sometimes camels can be seen in the premises. A sadhu receives the offerings from the devotees. He greets you and smears ash on your forehead.

Tulsi Samarak Bhavan

A monument that gives a standing testimony to a great literary figure of yesteryears, Tulsi Smarak Bhavan houses the literary works Tulsidas. Mainly used for conducting religious discourses and prayer meetings, this building also acts as a cultural center where one can enjoy performing arts sessions by veteran artists.

Treta Ke Thakur

Location

This temple stands at the place, where Rama is said to have performed the Ashvamedha Yagya. About 300 years ago, the Raja of Kullu built a new temple here, which was improved by Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore, during 1784. At the same time, the adjoining ghats were also built. The initial idols in black sandstone were recovered from Saryu and placed in the new temple, famous as Kaleram-ka-Mandir.
