The Secretariat Building is a prominent landmark of the Panaji City. The oldest building of the city is today one of the popular Panaji attractions. The Secretariat Building of Panjim is situated close to the Chapel of St. Sebastian.

Panaji's Secretariat Building is a classic example of Portuguese architectural style. However it was built by Adil Shah – the Muslim ruler of Goa during the 16th century. The Portuguese modified the structure to build a fantastic rest house for the area's viceroy.

At present, the Secretariat Building is the seat of the state legislature of Goa. Close to the Secretariat Building, the statue of world famous hypnotist – Abbe Frain is a major crowd puller.
