St. Joseph's Cathedral is situated in the gun foundry area of Hyderabad. It is one of the most splendid cathedrals in Hyderabad. The important sites to be seen in this Cathedral are Italian architecture and five mammoth bells topping the cathedral. Although the belfry does not have ample space; the stairs are not recommended for anybody with the timidest stirrings of ricketiness.
The main hall of this cathedral is a large one, which can accommodate more than 500 individuals at a time for gathering. The five giant bells have been made and brought from Italy. The bells have been attached to this fabled construction in 1892. The bells are not only sacred, but also it is believed to safeguard the people against lightning and storms; so the bells are being rung dynamically during a forthcoming storm to alert the people.
