A temple that boast of a rich tradition and ethnicity, Sri Chennakesavaswami temple dates back to 1000 years ago. This temple lays in a place, which is very revered as the birthplace of Sri Annamacharya, the Sankeertana Acharyulu. According to legend, the temple was constructed and administered by the Matti Rajas. Temple premises hold numerous sub temples like Sri Gopalaswami Sameta Chakrathalwar temple, Chennakesavaswami Sameta temple, Sri Kamaksh and Sri Siddeswaraswami temple
Apart from celebrating Brahmotsavam, festivals like Annamacharya Jayanthi and Vardhanti Utsavams are also conducted with much pomp and pride.
