Sanaka Sanandana Teertham

A lovely waterfall, which is closely associated with two sages by the same name as that of the teertham,Sanaka Sanandana Teetham boast of a fantastic story. Once Sanaka and Sadanada went to Vaikuntham to have the darshan of Vishnu. But Jaya and Vijaya, who were the guards of vaikuntha, did not permit them. Being ashamed, the sages cursed the guards and on account of that the guards took their birth as Danavas. The sages returned to earth after three rebirths the guards have regained their original form.

Sanaka and Sadanada were known for their exceptional divinity and yogic powers. So the popular belief is that the teertham in their name maintains the same powers as the sages had and a holy dip in this would be highly rewarding, especially on the day of maargazhi. So devotees took a dip in this teertham with the hope that it would fetch them yogic powers.
