Location
Jaydev Kenduli is a village located in the Ilambazar Community Development block in Bolpur around 22 km from Durgapur. For a long period, this place has been considered the birthplace of the famous poet Jayadeva, the composer of Gita Govinda. The place has been developed as a religious centre with many ashramas and temples.
A Baul fair is organised every year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Jaydev Kenduli. The place has temples with beautiful carvings, among which the most popular one is the Navaratna temple named Radha Vinod Temple. This temple was built by the royal family of Burdwan. The Radha Vinod Temple has terracotta panels on its walls.
