Annapurna Temple

The Annapurna Devi temple has four majestic life-sized elephants supporting an ornamental doorway and colorful figurines depicting mythological characters and stories. The temple building houses temples of Siva, Kal Bhairava and Hanuman, and has a discourse hall.

Dedicated to the goddess Annapoorna, this temple is one among the famous pilgrimage centers in Indore. Not only devotees, but also tourists come to see this majestic shrine.

As per Hindu Mythology, Annapoorna Devi is believed to be the goddess of food. This temple bears a resemblance to the famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple of Madurai.

Inside the temple premises there exist shrines of Sivan, Hanuman, and Kalabhairava. The Pravachan Hall of the temple is also very famous. Four full sized elephants embrace this temple’s highly ornamented gate. An architectural splendor, the outer wall of the temple is brightly decorated with beautiful images of legendary characters.
