Muthathi is a small village on the bank of Kaveri. The road to Muthathi runs along the river, and you can stop at places to spend time on the river bank or dip your feet in shallow waters. The village and the approach road are within the boundary of Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.

History

Muthathi is one of the famous forest place which has connection with Ramayana. When Sita Devi (wife of Lord Sri Rama) was taking bath at this place, her nose studd falls into the river. Anjaneya will come to the rescue, finds the studd and returns to Sita maatha. Anjaneya gets the name Muthetharaya because of this instance and there is a small temple for Anjaneya at this place.

Road: Muthathi is at a distance of 90Kms from Bangalore via kanakapura and Sathanur ( or Halagur ). Only bus transportation available to reach.
