Old Jetty in Ruin is a monument fro the majestic glory of the once bustling port in Orissa, Gopalpur-on-Sea. The ruins of the old jetty, built during the medieval period, are seen in the beach area, leaving memory of bubbling activities of trade and commerce. It was from this jetty many sailors started their journey to other countries across the Indian Sea.
The jetty was believed to be the originating location for many sailors to Indonesia and Rangoon. The Gopalpur beach has been receiving much tourist attraction due to this centuries old jetty as well apart from the unspoiled and unexplored features of the beach.
