Mumbai Zoo (Veermata Jijabai Udyan)

Location

Mumbai zoo, also known as Veermata Jijabai Udyan, is established in 1861. During British regime, the Garden was named as Victoria Gardens Mumbai. This is located in central Mumbai near Byculla.

This is a precious zoo with variety of bird species and many kinds of animals including black bucks, crocodiles, hyena, monitor lizards, foxes and many other species of wild living beings. One major attraction here is the museum called 'Albert Museum' showcasing many valuables in ancient and modern India. One statue of a mammoth elephant adorns the entrance of the museum, which is sculptured out of rocks.
