Domboor Lake is a calm and serene lake replete with varieties of natural as well a cultured aquatic life and regular visits by Migratory birds from far countries. Water sports facilities enchanting gardens and entertainment facilities are an additional incentive for visiting this beautiful lake which boasts of a Hydel Project in the vicinity. 14th January every year witnesses a surge in crowd at the lake for the 'Pous Sankranti Mela'. The lake formed due to the convergence rivers Raima and Saima is a treat to visit and enjoy.
Surrounded by the beautiful hills, Dumboor Lake is a major tourist attraction in Tripura. Lush green vegetation cloaking the hills leave the onlookers enchanted. The lake covers an area of 41 sq km and is dotted with 48 islands. It is situated at a distance of 110 km from the capital city Agartala. Tourists come to the lake especially in winters as during this time several migratory birds can be spotted here. It is also a home to fishes. The lake is the confluence of Raima and Sarma rivers. Another attraction is the nearby Hydel Project where river Gomati originates and is called 'Tirthamukh'. This place comes alive on 14th January every year when it becomes the venue for the famous 'Poush Sankranti Mela'.
