Legship, a small hamlet close to Pelling connects Geyzing, Pelling and Yuksum to other cities of the state. Comprising of a small market area, this village lies on the banks of Kalez River and Rangeet River and is approximately 26 km away from Pelling. Legship is known for a beautiful Rangeet River dam, which is a hydro power Dam built on this river. The Rangeet River dam is on the right side of the main river, between rocky cliffs.
Apart from that, Legship is also well developed with various eating joints, lodges, shops, communication centres and more. Located in the town, the Kirateswar Mahadev Mandir is a temple, which is enshrined with a stone Shiva Lingam. According to the common belief of the locals, one visit to this temple with pure devotion can fulfil all wishes. A holy cave Lho Khando Sang Pho, one of the famous four caves in Sikkim is located close to the hamlet.
Throughout the year different kinds of festivals are held in major temples.. One of the most famous festivals is the Bala Chaturdesi festival which is held in the month November to December. Legship is also famous for hot springs and herbal and medical plants.
