Bandhavgarh Hill

Location

Bandhavgarh hill is the highest hill in the reserve of Bandhavgarh with an altitude of 807 meters above the sea level. A group of many small hills, 32 in numbers, surround this hill. These small hills together with Bandhavgarh hill forms a number of low lying plains and valleys. The hill is formed by the sandstones and the water permeates from these hills are the sources of many streams and springs in the region.

The hill is the specimen of picturesque natural beauty and the cool climate over the hilly terrains make it a hill station for the enthusiast tourists. The top of the hill is flat and some portions are marshy land as well. The green vegetation is dense in the downhill and as it goes up from the downhill, the flora reduces.

The hilly regions are natural habitat of many plants and animals. Few exceptional plant species are found in these regions. From the hilltop, one can view the panoramic views of the picturesque down valleys and plains.
