Jagdish Temple

Location

Jagadish temple, an Indo-Aryan temple, is an imposing temple in Udaipur located at the first entrance of the city Palace, the grandeur royal palace in Udaipur. The temple with Lord Vishnu as the main deity was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651.

The temple is constructed by perfectly following the Shipa Sastra, an art and science of construction theories for temples and other buildings. The temple at a height of 24 m can be reached through a way of thirty two steps and two white Marble structures guard the main entry to the temple.

Excellent Carvings showing musicians paying musical instruments, dancing and singing of beautiful lady folks adorn the large hall in the temple. The temple is highly appreciated for the carved images. Many tourists visit this temple to view the marvelous architecture and sculptures.
