Location
Verinag is a spring that is situated at the foot of the Banibal Pass in the Pir Panjal Range. This spring is believed to be the source of Jhelum River. At the spring, Emperor Jehangir built an octagonal stone basin in 1612. Shah Jahan laid a garden around it in 1620. Water of the spring is known for its medicinal value.
