Sunheri Burj

Location

The architecture at the fort presents the Rajasthan art forms during its glory days, those days when the artisans were often beheaded or disabled after completion of work in order to prevent them form repeating a similar masterpiece. The Sunheri Burj (Golden Prop) presents a similar display of artful work from the Rajput as well as partly Mughal art interwoven seamlessly into the architecture. The interiors of the Burj shine bright, even today, due to the golden hue emanating from the Gold inlay works. The walls also present the obligatory murals, frescos and paintings created in honour of the Gods and of course the rulers. The Sunheri Burj also makes an exception and presents its frescoes of birds and animals that are creatively framed in gold.
