Sed-Gyued Monastery

Location

The Sed-Gyued monastery at Siliguri houses more than 90 monks of the Gelukpa sect who receive the teachings from their master and vocational instruction as per their choice.

The original monastery was destroyed by the Chinese Army, and as per the wish of the present Dalai Lama, the monastery was rebuilt here at Siliguri. It is an institute for Buddhist studies and includes a research centre. There are a few guest rooms available for visitors to the monastery.
