Rajabhatkhawa

Rajabhatkhawa is a small scenic town located in the foothills of the Himalayas n the Jalphaiguri district of the state of West Bengal. The town is known for its beautiful landscape which is predominantly green owing to the thick forests which borders it from all sides. The famous Buxa Tiger Reserve is located close to Rajabhatkhawa and the town can be considered as the entry point to the Reserve since all necessary entry permits are issued to visiting tourists from here.

Rajabhatkhawa is only 12 kms from Jayanti and approachable by both road and rail form Siliguri (153kms) and Alipurduar (17 kms). Surrounded by dense forests of Buxa tiger reserve Rajabhatkhawa is an ideal place for the wild life lovers. A watchtower deep inside the forest gives the best opportunity to view elephant, bison and even tiger. The Nature Interpretation Center at Rajabhatkhawa is another attraction. There is a small bazaar and a beautiful small rail station. Accommodation is available in forest rest house and also in a private rest house named Gracilips.
