Being in the historic as well mythological zone has created numerous monuments and shrines of worship in Faizabad and its twin town Ayodhya. The Raja Mandir claims its linkage directly with Lord Ram, the ruler of Ayodhya. Based on the Guptar Ghat on the shores of Sharayu, the Raja mandir houses various artfully carved out idols of numerous Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
The temple has been constructed in typical Hindu architecture and looks splendid in the reflections in the water of the nearby river. The Guptar Ghat affords the opportunity to take a holy dip or a mini splash in the waters of the river and then pray at the temple.
