From the epic ages onwards, holy teerthams of Tirumala are famous for their sacredness and divinity. Almost all the sacred water bodes hold fantastic legends and stories of salvation. In fact these legends are the driving force that led lacks of pilgrims to this temple town each day.
As the name reminds of, this teertham has some connection with the mighty Pandavas. It is supposed that two among the pandava brothers Yudhishtra and Arjuna had taken their bathe here in this pond. Pilgrims visiting Tirupati eagerly takes their bath in this sacred torrent on the belief that it would wipe out all their sinful deeds.
