Location
Mawsynram, a small village, is located at a distance of approximately 15 km from Cherrapunjee. The village is visited by large number of tourists owing to the Mawjymbuin Cave, which is several years old. Famous for stalagmite whose shape is similar to that of Shiva lingam, the cave is visited large number of devotees every year. The annual rainfall in this region is about 11,872 mm, which gives a close competition to Cherrapunjee.
