Lalpore village

Location

Lalpore village in Kupwara District was established in 1060 by Raja Lov. As per a legend, Takhur Icher Chand Lav became the king after the end of the rule of Pandavas Kings. He ruled over the village for about 60 years and after that his son Koshi Shi took over the empire.

According to Pandit Hargopal Khasta, the village was initially known by the name of Lolopur. Some of the historians believe that the village was established by Sultan Shahabuddin and Lolo Damer. This village is also associated with the love story of Lolari and Bamboor. The remains of the ancient building Jail Khana in the village can also be seen.
